As per January first of 2017, Fred Cremer has transferred his controlling interest in Cremer Speciaalmachines B.V. to Uhlmann Pac-Systeme GmbH & Co. KG, in Germany.
Uhlmann Group is a family owned company and the world’s largest supplier of complete blister lines for the pharmaceutical industry. With an annual turnover of 300 million Euros, the Uhlmann Group employs 2000 people worldwide.
Cremer Speciaalmachines B.V. is the world’s leading supplier of product counting machines, with a strong focus on the pharmaceutical industry. Cremer has an annual turnover of 26 million Euros and employs 140 people at two facilities in Lisse, a small town in the Netherlands.
The acquisition of the Cremer company means a large and important expansion of Uhlmann’s business and product portfolio. With the merging of the two companies we can now offer complete turnkey counting and packaging lines for the pharmaceutical industry.
Cremer will greatly benefit from Uhlmann’s expertise and their global sales organisation, which will allow the company to explore even more areas in the world. With combined strength, both companies will be able to expand their market share in the pharmaceutical packaging business even further.
Nor our customers, nor our services, will in any way be affected by the change in ownership. On the contrary. The shift in ownership will guarantee the stability and continuity of our Holland based company. Cremer remains a strong and fully independent company that will keep carrying the name of its founder and will keep all of its specialized and dedicated employees. Product counting will remain our core business and we will keep serving the food, non-food, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries as we have done for more than 60 years. We still rely on our vast network of agents and distributors and our suppliers will keep delivering to the same address (deliveries, invoicing and administration) as before.
As Fred Cremer stated: “I’m 58 years old now and by selling my shares to Uhlmann I have ensured the continuity of the company, and I am confident that this transaction is in the interest not just of both companies, but of all our current and future customers. The ongoing growth of the Cremer company requires a solid organisation with professional managing ability and leadership. We as a company will therefore greatly benefit from the experience already acquired by Uhlmann and its subsidiaries”.
Fred Cremer will remain as the managing director of the Cremer company.
